Biography
Rev. Fr. Sampson Kasapakis, originally from Chicago, IL, moved to Sarasota, FL when he was younger and spent the formative years in the Tampa Bay Area. He graduated from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) which is where he met his wife, Presvytera Mallory. They now have three wonderful children Sophia, Christos, and Evangelia. Fr. Sampson is a graduate of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology who has served the following Parishes during his ministry: Pastoral Assistant at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Efimerios at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Tarpon Springs, FL, Proistamenos of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Pensacola, FL, Proistamenos of St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg, FL and now he is here at Holy Trinity in Clearwater, FL.
In addition to his assignment here at Holy Trinity, Fr. Sampson has been appointed the Vicar of the Western Florida Conference which administratively and pastorally supports the parishes within our conference. He serves currently on the Metropolis Council of Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta and is the Spiritual advisor of the Young Adult Conference. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Hellenic Dance Festival, a Metropolis of Atlanta ministry event that preserves our Hellenic culture through dance, music, instruments, and lyrics. From a young age, Fr. Sampson was passionate about Hellenic Dance and Music. In addition to dancing at St. Barbara’s, he also came to Holy Trinity to dance in the Hellas Dancers participating in the festival, traveled on trips, and competing in HDF.
Something more personal about him is that when he can, he enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach, fishing, watching sports (big Chicago sports fan), cooking, and going to see live music.
He is excited to join the Holy Trinity Family!
