The word “acolyte” comes from the Greek word meaning to follow, attend to, and to minster to. This is what the Altar Boys do in God’s Holy Altar. They follow in procession, they attend to the Altar, and they minster to the Priest. It is an ancient and sacred honor to be an acolyte. Those boys ages 10 and above may serve, and they are encouraged and expected to also be registered in our Church School. Christ said to His Disciples, and to Peter, “Follow Me!” Our Acolytes follow in procession in the Light and Path that our Saviour Jesus Christ in their ministry to serve and adorn His Divine Services for our healing, inspiration, and salvation.
